The best tennis player in the world, Novak Djoković, is this year's winner of the highest recognition of the city of Belgrade, the Despot Stefan Lazarević Award for his lasting contribution and life's work, Deputy Mayor of Belgrade, Goran Vesić, announced.

He reminded that the award is traditionally given in April, when the "The Days of Belgrade" are celebrated.
- This is the greatest recognition that a citizen of Belgrade can receive, for a foreigner it is to become an honorary citizen of Belgrade, and Novak absolutely deserved it - Vesić told Tanjug.
- I hope that we will give Novak this great recognition in person and in that way we will show how much the citizens of Belgrade appreciate everything that Djoković did for sports and for Serbia and Belgrade - Vesić added.
