THE EUROPEAN ECONOMY WILL BE DESTROYED! Orban hits out like never before: the EU embargo on Russian gas will cost us dearly!

Orbán believes that the European economy is largely struggling with rising inflation, which is a direct consequence of the EU embargo on Russian gas.

In his public radio interview, the Hungarian Prime Minister said that without the price caps on fuel, some basic foods and energy, Hungarian inflation, which accelerated to 10.7 percent in May, would be running at 15 to 16 percent. 

He added that the limited price of fuel could remain in force for a longer period of time, if the war in Ukraine lasts.

- It all depends on the war. If there is war, then there is war inflation. If there is peace, then we can phase out these measures more quickly - Orban said.

The European Union believes that the package of sanctions against Moscow will destroy the Russian economy, while Vladimir Putin claims that the West will be in trouble because of the sanctions it has imposed.

- We will not have a closed economy, we have not had one and we will not have one. A country like Russia cannot be fenced in - the head of the Kremlin pointed out.
