The High Court in Belgrade sentenced Boško Spasić (44) today to 10 years in prison for the murder of his wife Jelena Spasić (52) on 29 May 2019 in the family's apartment in Vračar, while their sons slept in the next room.
As a reminder, the convict killed his wife Jelena with a knife stab in the area of the neck in a state of nervous disorder, and then he cut his own veins in an attempt to commit suicide.
Boško found out about the murder of his wife in the Emergency Center, when he woke up, he said in his defense.
As it turned out during the trial, Jelena and Boško got into trouble when one of their two sons became seriously ill.
In addition, they had growing financial problems and, as he said, he saw the only way out was to take his own life, and for the company to continue working under the leadership of his wife.
Spasić told the investigating authorities that he tried to kill himself several times, but that his wife managed to dissuade him.
