One of the many buildings in the neighbourhood caught fire, and the windows were blown up. Working in smoke and rubble, firefighters managed to put out the flames while the explosions continued to shake the city, the BBC reports.

At least eight people were injured in Pozniaky. One resident cursed, "Putin, we want to see you slaughtered like an animal", one of the BBC's Kyiv correspondents described the situation.

As a reminder, strong explosions have been echoing though Kyiv since Friday morning, and the advisor to the Ukrainian Minister of Internal Affairs, Anton Gerashchenko, posted on social media that an attack on the capital had begun.
