The seven-time Formula 1 world champion, Michael Schumacher, had a street named after him in Sarajevo, Klix.ba reported.
The Sarajevo Canton Assembly has made a decision to rename the A transversal in the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina into “Michael Schumacher Transversal”.
The German Formula 1 driver is an honorary citizen of Sarajevo, and he visited Bosnia and Herzegovina twice in his career during the 1990s. Schumacher was in Bosnia and Herzegovina as an ambassador of UNESCO and the American health and humanitarian organisation "Hope", and on that occasion he donated money to help children wounded during the war.
At the end of 2013, Schumacher suffered a serious injury while skiing in the French Alps. His family keeps all information about the health condition of the German Formula 1 driver in strict secrecy.
