The officials from Nyon spoke out regarding the case that attracted the attention of the whole of Europe.
The House of European Football launched an urgent investigation into the standing ovation for Russian President Vladimir Putin during the match of the Champions League second qualifying round played in Istanbul.
Dynamo Kyiv eliminated Fenerbahce by winning after extra time (2:1), and UEFA issued a short statement.
- A UEFA Ethics and Disciplinary Inspector will conduct a disciplinary investigation regarding alleged misbehaviour of Fenerbahce supporters. Information on this matter will be made available in due course - it was announced from the UEFA headquarters in Nyon.
For the same reason, the Turkish giant spoke out.
- Whatever the reason, as Fenerbahçe Sports Club, we do not accept the reaction in some stands. It would be dishonest to attribute this event, which never reflects the position and values of our club, to all our fans and to put the responsibility on our club - the statement of the Turkish giant says, among other things.
