He arrived in Melbourne with the idea of winning the trophy at the Australian Open and becoming the world's "number one", but he completely failed. He was eliminated in the round of 16 and now he wants to forget everything he experienced on Australian soil as soon as possible and turn to new challenges.

THE ACKNOWLEDGMENT CAME: I don't DESERVE anything, THE FIRST place is NOT for me!

In a statement for "Midi Libre", German tennis player Alexander Zverev commented on everything he experienced at this year's Australian Open.

- I'm fine now, I know I played a bad tournament. I wanted to win the Australian Open and become number one, but I didn't deserve it and it was as simple as that - Zverev said.

Before coming to the first Grand Slam tournament this year, he "dreamed" of destroying the best tennis player in the world, and the media in Germany have already seen him as the successor of Novak Djoković.

As he himself admits, this led to great pressure which caused his failure:

- I came with the goal of winning the title and being number 1, but I didn't succeed, I have to do much better. If I play like this, I don't deserve anything, the title or the first place.
