The government in Kyiv claims that Russian forces have suffered heavy losses thanks to the Turkish Bayraktar TB2 combat drones.

Experts say that Ukraine started purchasing these drones in 2019, and that before the start of the war, they had about 60 of these Turkish aircraft at their disposal.
The Bayraktar TB2 drone was developed by a company belonging to the Bayraktar family. The technical director of the company is Selçuk Bayraktar, also known as the son-in-law of the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
Bayraktar has already performed well in actions in Iraq and Syria, and Azerbaijan used it in Nagorno-Karabakh against Armenian militias. In Libya, it was used against the army of the rebel commander, Khalifa Haftar.
