RUSSIA OR UKRAINE? Djoković on one side, Rafa and Roger on the OTHER side!

Former Ukrainian tennis player Sergiy Stakhovsky joined his country's army in the war against Russia.

Sergiy called in directly from the front.

He revealed that Novak Djoković contacted him, while Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer did not answer. 

- Djoković sent me a message of support, we chatted a bit. I tried to contact Roger and Rafa. I'm sorry they chose to keep quiet. I understand them, this is not their war - Stakhovsky told La Stampa.

In the past, the 31st tennis player in the world did not have any military experience before going to this war.

- I have no experience, military service is not mandatory in Ukraine. But I am ready to do everything necessary to protect my country and prevent Russia from winning. If that means that I should take up arms and defend myself by shooting someone, I will do it - said the Ukrainian and added:

- We have the support of great people, it is important that it continues. Otherwise, when he finishes with Ukraine, Putin will start bombing Europe.

Finally, he touched on Russian tennis players Andrey Rublev and Daniil Medvedev.

- They are good guys, they understand the atrocities of this war. If nothing else, they try to do something, others don't even do that much. I have already received hundreds of messages from tennis players around the world, who are shocked by what is happening. It is help, it shows that they understand that what Putin is saying about Ukrainian Nazis is a lie -  Stakhovsky concluded.
