The whole world has heard of the controversial former king of Spain, Juan Carlos I (83), who was the main news in tabloids around the world for years. However, now the former high police officer José Manuel Villarejo (71) has revealed new details about his life, even more incredible and scandalous. 

Villarejo is currently on trial for blackmail and corruption, so he decided to talk about his previous boss, whose sudden and extreme sex drive at one point began to pose a danger to the state, as he said. 

The problem escalated to the point where members of the intelligence service were allegedly forced to secretly give the king drugs full of female hormones in order to decrease his libido.  

- He received testosterone blockers after his libido was categorised as a problem that must finally be stopped because of his burning passion - Villarejo pointed out and directly accused the former head of the National Intelligence Centre (CNI) and a close ally of former monarch Félix Sanz Roldán of being responsible for that action.

Agents laughed out loud at Villarejo's claims, pointing out that they resembled stories from James Bond movies, and Roldán denied everything,  saying that he found out about such speculations only when the former lover of Juan Carlos I, Corinna zu Sayn-Wittgenstein, told him about this. She was precisely the one to be taped by Villarejo in 2016, as he admitted that people from the royal family gave Juan Carlos female hormones in order to take away his strength.

- They took everything from him, he could no longer be with a woman - said the woman who had had an affair with the king from 2004 to 2009 while he was still on the throne. 

The news about the legendary libido of the former king, however, is nothing new. It was released into public after the writer and military historian Amadeo Martínez Inglés wrote the book "Juan Carlos: King of 5.000 Mistresses", collecting evidence of his sex life and portraying the king as a well-known sex addict. The book claims that he had 62 mistresses in just six months, and during his passionate period between 1976 and 1994, as many as 2.154 women.

Spanish royal family expert Pilar Eyre has confirmed Martínez Inglés' claim that the former king also tried to sleep with the late British Princess Diana when she was 25, and some of his most famous mistresses were reportedly Danish-German humanitarian Corinna Larsen, a Spanish singer Sara Montiel, Belgian governess Liliane Sartiau, Italian Princess Maria Gabriela de Saboya and many others. 

As a reminder, Juan Carlos I abdicated in 2014 in favor of his son Felipe, and he "disappeared" from public life in 2019. He currently lives in a luxurious hotel in Abu Dhabi.
