ERDOGAN PUSHES A FALSE STATE INTO NATO: We will take steps in the process of Kosovo's accession to the Alliance!

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said today after a meeting with the President of the Provisional Institutions of Pristina, Vjosa Osmani, in Ankara, that Turkey will help the so-called Kosovo to become a member of NATO.

Erdoğan reminded that Turkey was the second country to recognise Kosovo's self-proclaimed independence, and added that, as it did not need anyone's permission at the time, it would do the same when Priština submitted a request to join NATO, Reporteri reports.

He added that he also talked with Osmani about Turkey's help to get recognition from countries that did not yet do that.

- As an important country in NATO, we do not see anything wrong with Kosovo's membership in the alliance and we support this process. We will take steps and, as we helped in the recognition process, we will do the same in the process of Kosovo's accession to NATO - Erdogan said.

He also said that "Turkey's sincere wish is for the process of dialogue between Belgrade and Priština to end as soon as possible with a comprehensive agreement that will ensure stability in the region."

At the joint press conference, Osmani thanked Turkey for always standing by the so-called Kosovo, Koha reports.

- The situation in Ukraine has shown the need for Kosovo to join NATO. By supporting our accession to NATO, Turkey provides direct support for peace and security throughout the region and on the European continent - Osmani said.
