The selector of the Serbian national basketball team, Svetislav Pešić, spoke publicly about the Denver Nuggets star Nikola Jokić.
Svetislav Pešić said straight away that the Serbian national team is not Nikola Jokić:
- I will not go to him, I travel to visit all the players. Nikola is one of the most important players, but you know what, the national team will never be Nikola Jokić. He is an outstanding player, a great guy and he is progressing which is especially important. He belongs to one of the greatest players ever, because every year he brings something new to his game. He is important, but one player does not make the whole national team. European players are important to me now, to see them better, to get to know them better. Of course, I follow what is happening in the NBA league and I am trying to establish good communication - said Svetislav Pešić for "Sputnik".
- Whether one or the other will play does not depend on my going there, just so you know. That will not be decisive. In the end, I will see if I will go at all - Pešić concluded.
