During the summer season, from mid-April to the end of October, Air Serbia operated a total of 1,100 round-trip charter flights, carrying over 140,000 passengers to popular summer destinations in Turkey, Egypt, and Greece, as well as other destinations around the world.

Turkey was the most popular destination, accounting for nearly half the total number of charter flights. Due to increased demand and the fact that Turkey and Egypt did not introduce travel restrictions for Serbian citizens, Air Serbia increased flights frequency to Antalya and Hurghada multiple times during the summer season, focusing the greatest number of its flights on these destinations.

Flights to Antalya, Bodrum, and Hurghada were operated throughout the entire season, while other destinations in Turkey, Egypt, and Greece were topical during summer months. This year, charter flights to Greek islands were resumed after a nearly two-year hiatus, so tourists were able to fly to popular destinations, such as Rhodes, Crete, Skiathos, Corfu, Cephalonia, and Zakynthos.

- We are glad that, despite the difficult conditions brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic, we can be proud of a successful summer season. We have noticed that charter flights no longer have the strong seasonality of former years. Although the peak is still in June, July, August, and mid-September, in the last few years we have also seen a growth of charter services in April, May, October, and November. In cooperation with our travel agent partners, we have committed all available resources to ensuring that as many passengers as possible reach their desired destinations in safety and comfort, to enjoy a well-deserved vacation. We are equally proud of the significant number of non-tourist charter flights we have operated during peak season - said Boško Rupić, Air Serbia Head of Sales.

Air Serbia will continue to operate charter flights to Hurghada in November, and is planning New Year flight offers in partnership with travel agencies. Autumn is a time when other types of charter flights, for sports teams, corporate and other clients, are also popular.
